The Me Recipe: Start Your Day Like a High-Performer

What if the secret to your next breakthrough wasn’t a massive change... but a better morning?

You wouldn’t start baking without a recipe — especially if the goal is to create something delicious and one-of-a-kind. The same goes for YOU. That’s why I created what I call the Me Recipe — a personal, repeatable morning practice made up of the ingredients that make you feel your absolute best.

Whether you're leading a team, chasing big goals, or just trying to stay grounded in the chaos of high-performance life — your morning routine is your launchpad. The Me Recipe helps you anchor into your power before the world pulls at your energy.

What Is the Me Recipe?

It’s a short list (think 4–5 items max) of small, doable actions that you have total control over, no matter where you are. These ingredients aren’t about perfection or productivity — they’re about setting the tone for the day and choosing who you want to be before the day chooses for you.

It’s like putting your oxygen mask on first — except it’s also beautiful, fun, and uniquely you.

High-Performance Habits, Simplified

Your Me Recipe is done in your own space, without relying on anyone else. And here’s the catch (and the brilliance): you do it every day.

It doesn’t have to take long — even just 15 minutes can shift your mindset. And over time, those tiny actions compound into serious power.

Here are some inspiring Me Recipe “ingredients” my clients have used:

  • 5-10 minutes of meditation (Insight Timer is a favorite)

  • Writing out a gratitude list

  • A "Worries Away Box" – jotting down fears on a slip of paper and tucking them away

  • Stretching or doing a few yoga poses

  • Making a nourishing cup of coffee, tea, or a smoothie

  • Mindfully putting on lotion

  • Reading a reflection or inspirational book

  • Dancing to one song — just one!

  • Journaling intentions or goals

  • Creating a mantra or using Core Desired Feelings

  • Lighting a candle and setting a vibe

  • Doodling, coloring, or getting a little creative

The key? It needs to feel grounding, intentional, and 100% yours.

Morning Routine = Mindset Insurance

Every high-performer I work with — from elite athletes to executive teams — has to protect their mindset. The Me Recipe is your daily practice of doing just that. Think of it as mental strength training.

This isn't about checking off boxes. It’s about who you become when you keep your promises to yourself, especially the quiet ones no one else sees.

And when life gets loud (and it will), this routine will be your reset button.

Want to Create Your Own Me Recipe?

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Choose 4–5 actions you can do daily. Keep it simple.

  2. Make sure they’re 100% in your control (no depending on someone else).

  3. Pick a calm, consistent place to practice.

  4. Commit to no tech (unless it’s for a meditation app).

  5. After one week, reassess and tweak as needed.

Oh — and don’t forget to write down how you want to feel after doing it. Anchoring into that intention each day is part of the magic.

This Isn’t Just Self-Care — It’s Self-Leadership

Creating your Me Recipe is a powerful act of self-respect. It’s a way of saying:
My mental game matters.
I lead myself before I lead others.
I’m worth the effort.

If you’re coaching a team, managing others, or leading a high-performance life, this kind of routine models the kind of energy and clarity you want to ripple outward.
